This January NBC Nightly News story, 'San Francisco Schools Transformed by the Power of Meditation' features a San Francisco school district that implemented a program called 'quiet time'. The program teaches children transcendental meditation and provides them with two, 15-minute periods to meditate. The story notes that the school district experienced a decrease in suspensions, an increase in attendance, and a rise in academic performance.
