The Society for Public Health Education has issued a Call for Public Comments on Draft School Health Educator Preparation Standards. These preparation standards are intended to serve as expectations for individuals graduating from a college or university prepared to teach health education at the K-12 level(s). The deadline for comments is March 15th.
The National Center for Education in Maternal and Child Health (NCEMCH) has released a video, Where to Find MCH Resources: An Introduction by John Richards & Keisha Watson. This 20 minute overview proposes the need for, along with sources of, public health information for the MCH workforce. This training opportunity was originally developed for the CityLEADERS project here at CityMatCH.
Transportation for America is still accepting applications for its new Smart City Collaborative with Sidewalk Labs. The collaborative seeks to help a small group of ambitious cities use technology to address their pressing transportation challenges. While they are working on putting a finger on what a smart city is and what it means to be one, they encourage cities to complete a survey regarding the “State of the Smart City” even if they do not plan to apply.
