HHS/Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH) has announced a funding opportunity, Prevention of Opioid Misuse in Women: Office on Women Health Prevention Awards (OWHPA) Cooperative Agreement. This grant is intended to assist public and private nonprofit agencies to address primary and/or secondary prevention of opioid use (prescription and non-prescription) by women across the lifetime.

CDC Announces Funds for States and Territories to Prepare for Zika

CDC has announced the opportunity for U.S. states and territories to apply for $25 million to build capacity to fight Zika locally. These funds will support efforts to protect Americans from Zika infection and associated adverse health outcomes, including the serious birth defect mircocephaly.

BUILD Health Challenge: To Fund Innovative Community & Hospital Collaborations to Catalyze Healthy Communities

The national BUILD Health Challenge will fund innovative community & hospital collaborations to catalyze health communities. The jointly funded effort will give two kinds of awards – planning and implementation awards – to strengthen partnerships among hospitals, nonprofits, local health departments, and other community organizations to improve the health of low-income neighborhoods within cities with populations greater than 150,000.
