University of Kentucky Report: Investing in Public Health May Reduce Medicare Spending

New findings from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's System for Action program and the University of Kentucky show that investing in public health may reduce Medicare spending. The new study tracked hundreds of U.S. communities from 1993-2013, and suggested that the federal Medicare program could gather $1.10 in savings for every $1.00 invested in local public health activities over time.
