CDC has announced the release of a supplemental issue of the Journal of Adolescent Health, providing findings and lessons learned from CDC’s and HHS Office of Adolescent Health’s (OAH) communitywide teen pregnancy initiatives project (CWI). The project that began in 2010, initiated to demonstrate the effectiveness of reducing rates of teen pregnancy and births through innovative, multicomponent, and communitywide initiatives. The 5-year project focused on communities with the highest teen pregnancy rates and placed an emphasis on reaching African American and Latino or Hispanic individuals aged 15 to 19 years. The goal of this supplemental issue is to inform local efforts to address disparities and reduce teen pregnancy.
