Community Adolescent Futures Initiatives (CAFI)

Increasingly, health is being understood as an asset that develops across the life span. Early investments in health are important not only for their immediate impact, but also for the improved health they produce throughout life. Additionally, healthy birth outcomes rely in large measure on health developed prior to pregnancy. Therefore, public health investments aimed at improving the overall health (and, thus, the future reproductive health) of youth are important and hold the greatest potential for improving birth outcomes across a population.

CAFI is a methodology, developed by CityMatCH, which focuses on improving the health of adolescents by providing communities with evidence-based interventions to target their most pressing health disparities. For more information, please contact Rebecca Ramsey (rebecca.ramsey@unmc.edu).
